Care and Community is back this week and we will be in the very lovely FLUX studios discussing Self Care. If you’ve been thinking about coming, but havent made it yet, it’s a good week to hop in on!
Next week, Militarism + Neutrality will be looking at who is influencing current discourse on neutrality, and Film Club is going to be discussing Godard’s Tout va bien.
P.s. If you would like to attend one of our meetings but you’re feeling nervous about it (very understandable!), please do send us an email with any questions you might have, or even just to let us know you’re coming and are feeling a bit shy – we will support you however we can!! Tout va bien (dir. Jean-Luc Godard, 1972) [LINK TO WATCH]
In 1972, newly radicalized Hollywood star Jane Fonda joined forces with cinematic innovator Jean-Luc Godard and collaborator Jean-Pierre Gorin in an unholy artistic alliance that resulted in Tout va bien (Everything’s All Right). This free-ranging assault on consumer capitalism and the establishment left tells the story of a wildcat strike at a sausage factory as witnessed by an American reporter (Fonda) and her has-been New Wave film director husband (Yves Montand).
